Undergraduate/Graduate Scholarships

To support employees of IDDBA-member companies, IDDBA offers academic scholarships. Awards from $100 to $1,000 per semester are available to graduating high school seniors and current or returning college or vocational/technical school students.

Food Safety Certification Reimbursement

To promote food safety certification for members, the IDDBA has developed the Food Safety Certification Reimbursement Program. This IDDBA program reimburses IDDBA retail members for their cost for food safety certification exams.

Educator Resources

If you teach culinary arts, pastry arts, food merchandising, food handling or other food industry-related courses, IDDBA's training programs (links on the left) are available AT NO CHARGE.

IDDBA Job Guides

Develop your staff using IDDBA Job Guides, downloadable, 1 page, 4 color PDF downloads. They are FREE, easy to use, on-the-job training resources. Timely, practical topics educate staff about products you sell and ways to efficiently work in in-store environments.

IDDBA Casts (Podcasts)

Free, educational IDDBA Casts (podcasts) are short audio/video recordings that provide bakery product knowledge, employee skills-building ideas, and timely information about industry topics and trends.

myIDDBA Web & Mobile Training

The new myIDDBA Training site is accessible on multiple platforms—smart phones, tablets, desktops, and scales. Supermarket associates will find quick (about 2 minutes) educational programs. Assessments are done via brief final quizzes. Associates' progress can be tracked and a certificate of recognition is available. The training programs are FREE and available for anyone to use.

Prepare to Sell E-Learning

Prepare to Sell™ — Fresh Perishable Foods is an interactive online training series that enables supermarket perishable department associates to increase sales in their departments (and throughout the store) by providing knowledgeable solutions for customers' meal needs. Associates test out new skills in online simulated interactions before taking them to the sales floor.
