Grants-in-Kind Program
IDDBA has a wealth of training programs and they're available AT NO CHARGE to
qualified educators.
If you teach culinary arts, pastry arts, food merchandising, food handling or other food industry-related
courses, the video programs listed below are available for classroom use:
Deli Training & Certificate Program*
Each course consists of a 15-20 minute video, a Leader's Guide, and Participant
Manual for each student. A Certificate of Acknowledgement is available from IDDBA for students who
successfully complete each course.
- Course 1: Clean, Fresh, and Friendly (customer service in the deli)
- Course 2: Know What You're Selling (2 parts) (product knowledge for deli cheese, meat and poultry)
- Course 3: Be Safe, Not Sorry (2 parts) (safe food handling in the deli and personal hygiene)
- Course 4: Center on Profit (running a profitable deli department)
Bakery Training & Certificate Program*
Each course consists of a 15-20 minute video, a Leader's Guide, and Participant
Manual for each student. A Certificate of Acknowledgement is available from IDDBA for students who
successfully complete each course.
- Course 1: Service That Sells (customer service in the bakery)
- Course 2: More Knowledge, More Sales (bakery product knowledge)
- Course 3: Stay Clean, Stay Safe (safe food handling in the bakery and personal hygiene)
- Course 4: Creating Product Appeal (bakery merchandising)
- Course 5: Path to Profit (running a profitable bakery department)

These are short, fun, and focused courses. Each topic is about 15 minutes long; all are included on one DVD:
