"Dance With the One That Brung Ya"
While not grammatically correct, dancing with the one that
brought you to the party is the right thing to do. It's as simple as dancing
with the person who invited you to the dance or buying from the company that
made the dance possible. This applies to trade shows as well as high school
proms.
By "dancing," we mean supporting the exhibiting companies at the IDDBA show
by visiting their booths and accepting their invitations. Without the exhibitor's
financial support, IDDBA couldn't bring in the keynote speakers, create the
Show & Sell Center, and subsidize retail registration fees.
Before you fill your "dance card," please take a
moment to make sure that the company that is seeking your time at the show is
actually an IDDBA exhibitor. A current list
is always available online.
We would appreciate it if you would ask, "Are you a 2012
IDDBA exhibitor?" If they say no, then please tell them that you would like
for them to take a booth because it's important to support the IDDBA show and
the exhibitors are a very essential part of the show. This is important because
there are some companies who have chosen not to exhibit but still take advantage
of the show by holding off-site parties and sales events. They will call you
for meetings, send you invitations to dinner, and stop you in the aisles at
the show trying to get your time and attention. You can support the IDDBA by
telling them your purpose in coming to the show is to meet with exhibitors.
Buyers and exhibitors make the dance possible – by working together, we can
take the lead and we'll all be dancing with the stars of the food world.
Dairy-Deli-Bake 2012 Exhibitors
Please "dance with the one that brung ya" by doing business with these exhibiting companies. Please ask non-exhibitors
to take a booth and to support the IDDBA and the industry by exhibiting. Thank
you.
