Cake Decorating Challenge

Watch three talented cake decorators bring their creation to fruition as they compete in a live cake decorating competition. Throughout this three-day competition selected participants are tasked to meet various requirements such as filling a bakery case, making a tiered special occasion cake, creating a cake with a unique flavor profile, and producing custom-designed toy story themed cakes. Watch each day as the cake artists put their skills to the test and vote for your favorite!

Joni is a self-taught decorator who gained and refined her skills through practice and passion. She started decorating from home 17 years ago and has been decorated for Loblaw’s Carmen’s Independent CityMarket for three years. Her favorite part about being a decorator is seeing the smiles her cakes bring and watching her creations come to fruition.

Dana began working at Hy-Vee as a bakery/sweet shop clerk before becoming a cake decorator. Though she had no prior experience Dana become an official decorator in 2017 through Hy-Vee’s cake decorating training courses. Her favorite part about being a decorator is watching the customer’s reactions at the cake reveal.

Jess has five years of experience decorating cakes, and before starting at Publix she had no knowledge about decorating. She learned her way around the cake decorating life through in-store Publix decorators who trained her. Jess loves being a decorator because she’s able to experiment and if there’s a mistake there’s always a way to cover and fix it!
