June 4-6, in Anaheim, CA

This year was buzzing with energy and excitement as 10,280 attendees and 825 companies joined to grow their businesses with networking, connecting, and an abundance of educational experiences. From fresh and trending ideas and new products to presentations from speakers and experts there were more opportunities for inspiration and learning than ever before. Cakes being decorated over the course of the show, pairings and samples, live demonstrations from celebrity chefs, and shelves of the hottest upcoming products are just a taste of what IDDBA 17 had to offer.

Show Highlights

  • Speakers: Sessions gave key insights into our business, the economy, the consumer, and current trends with a top speaker lineup.
  • Show and Sell: Concepts ranged from demos on charcuterie, cheese, and olives to grocerant-style areas where attendees could order food and have it delivered to their table. A 4-foot Lightning McQueen cake with a scene from his movie developed right before attendee’s eyes.
  • Show and Sell Workshop: Celebrity chefs and industry professionals engaged their audiences with interactive presentations and live demonstrations.
  • Show and Sell Express: A convenience store format that offered attendees ideas to engage with on-the-go shoppers through creative ideas for merchandising fresh concepts.
  • Cake Decorating Challenge: Attendees watched as three top decorators masterfully created a variety of awe-inspiring cakes each day. First place went to Katie Knowles, Marketplace Food and Drug Inc.
  • New Product Showcase: 225 shelves put attendees at the forefront of the newest and latest cutting-edge products, packaging, and services. It was an all-encompassing look into the future of dairy, deli, and bakery.
  • Expert Neighborhood:  New this year was the opportunity for attendees to meet with industry experts and professionals to discuss their business challenges and questions one-on-one.

IDDBA, along with our member partners, gave back to California communities by supplying food from IDDBA 17 to local foodbanks. Our generous exhibitors donated 154,848 pounds of food from every description and food group. With over 200 volunteers, the food was collected, sorted, and boxed and distributed to those most in need. Again, a special thank you to our exhibitors for their charitable donations.
