As former CEO of Starbucks, Haggen Food & Pharmacy, and Extended Stay Hotels, Donald spent four decades watching, listening, learning, and executing strategies and lessons from employees and retail icons.

He joined Starbucks in 2002 as president and led them through some of the company’s most rapid global expansion with record financial performance and growth. He focused on the human connection with front-line employees and face-to-face marketing that moved product and kept customers happy. With more than 35 years of experience in the supermarket industry, Donald was a key executive in the development and expansion of Walmart Super Center, where he was personally recruited by Sam Walton, Walmart founder, because of his prosperous reputation in grocery retail.
