Blockchain Technology: Building Transparency and Trust in the Retail Food Industry

blockchain webinar

Transparency and storytelling are becoming increasingly important to today’s knowledgeable and savvy shoppers. They want to know not just what ingredients the food they purchase and consume contains, but where the ingredients were sourced. They want to know the farm it was grown or raised on. They want to know that it was kept at the appropriate temperature when in transit. And they want proof. There’s a new technological movement to create complete transparency and on-demand access to information about food and ingredients along every link of the food supply chain, an instant genealogy for our food. This technology is called blockchain, and it is quickly becoming a reality for the food industry.
