Specialty cheese continues to grow in importance as a driver of consumer traffic to our fresh departments. According to the Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin, household penetration of specialty cheese remains high: 96.8% of households buy cheese, with 85.7% of them also buying specialty cheese. To successfully connect with shoppers on the variety of cheese options available at your stores, it’s vital to implement a “Cheese Party” approach, which creates an interactive experience by focusing on merchandising, sampling, and educational events.
