Theory and Practice: The Story of the Wisconsin Master Cheesemaker Program

Learn about the rigorous standards and requirements to become a Wisconsin Master Cheesemaker, hear how the program protects and promotes Wisconsin cheese and provides an opportunity to experienced Wisconsin cheesemakers to expand their knowledge and technical skills. The Wisconsin Master Cheesemaker® program is coordinated by the Center for Dairy Research and the Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin. The program is the only of its kind in the United States and moves the Wisconsin dairy industry forward while preserving traditions passed down from generation to generation of Wisconsin cheesemakers.
