History

Founded in 1964 as the Wisconsin Cheese Seminar, IDDBA has evolved with the food industry for more than 60 years, growing from a regional gathering into a global community of dairy, deli, and bakery professionals. As our membership and influence expanded, so did our identity—becoming the International Cheese and Deli Association in 1980, the International Dairy-Deli Association in 1985, and ultimately the International Dairy Deli Bakery Association in 1991.

In 1988, our annual expo and conference was named Dairy-Deli-Bake, now globally recognized simply as IDDBA. This signature event continues to unite retailers, distributors, brokers, manufacturers, and other industry leaders to share knowledge, spark innovation, and shape the future of dairy, deli, and bakery.

Our recently refreshed identity and new tagline, “Thinking Outside the Aisle,” adopted in 2025, reflects the spirit of our progressive, forward-thinking community, honoring our roots while empowering the next generation of professionals across our global food industry.
