Joined Weston Foods in 2018 and has worked to support the Walmart and Sam’s Club Business units in Donuts, Pies, Cakes, Artisan Breads, Cookies, and Food Service products. Jerry retired as Vice President Fresh Foods for Meijer in 2018 after 8 years. During his tenure at Meijer, Jerry upheld the retailer’s longstanding commitment to buying locally grown produce when available as long as the quality meets its high standards.
In 2012, Jerry moved the Meijer meat department to a more traditional butcher shop environment, complete with certified meat cutters, full-service meat counters and the highest quality beef to continue to enhance customer experience. The retailer was the first, and only, retailer in the Midwest to upgrade its beef selection to only the Certified Angus Beef® brand at USDA Choice prices. Prior to joining Meijer, Jerry worked 18 years for Kroger and held many roles that include manufacturing, logistics, buying, merchandising and operations. He also worked 13 years for Sam’s Club in the buying, merchandising and operations organizations.
Jerry currently serves on the Board of Directors for the International Dairy Deli Bakery Association; He recently stepped down from the Governor appointed position on the Michigan Beef Commission.
